Roles & Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Design:
Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on project requirements.
Understand business requirement documents (BRDs) and translate them into clear, relevant test documentation.
Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and design test strategies.
Manual & Automated Testing:
Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
Build and maintain automation scripts using any one of the following frameworks: Selenium or Playwright, with any scripting/programming language (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.).
API & Database Testing:
Perform API testing using tools like Postman or Rest Assured.
Conduct database testing/data validation using basic to intermediate SQL queries.
Performance Testing:
Understand and apply performance testing concepts using JMeter.
Defect Management:
Identify, log, and track defects in bug-tracking tools, ensuring resolution and re-testing.
Work closely with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
Documentation:
Prepare clear documentation for test cases, defect reports, and testing outcomes.
Keep all test documentation up to date in line with project changes.
Continuous Improvement & Learning:
Stay updated with the latest QA tools, trends, and best practices.
Participate in team knowledge-sharing sessions.
Qualifications:
2–5 years of hands-on QA experience, preferably in tech product or services companies.
Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies.
Hands-on experience in automation testing using any one framework (Selenium or Playwright) with any scripting language.
Working knowledge of API testing tools — Postman or Rest Assured.
Basic to intermediate SQL skills for database/data validation testing.
Understanding of JMeter and performance testing concepts.
Proven ability to create test cases and test scenarios from requirement/BRD documents.
Experience using Confluence/JIRA for documentation and workflow tracking.
Strong communication and requirement-understanding skills.
Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
Bonus:
Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, Xray), security testing, or mobile testing tools.
